Diplomate Bio

Dr. Zokol graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1974 and practiced with his father, a certified specialist in prosthodontics, for 20 years.  He is a member of the faculty of dentistry at the University of British Columbia and serves as a member of the Dean’s board of Councillors.  In 1993, Dr. Zokol became a faculty member of the Misch International Institute and in 1996 established the Pacific Implant Institute in Vancouver, BC, Canada after receiving his Diplomate with the American Board of Oral Implantology.  He has lectured internationally in both surgery and prosthodontics for the last 35 years.

He also holds Fellowships with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American College of Dentists.  Dr. Zokol has chaired the General Examination Committee and functioned as a chief examiner for the College of Dental Surgeons of BC, and is a past president of the Vancouver and District Dental Society.  In addition, Dr. Zokol hosts his own weekly radio show, “Your Dental Health”, on Vancouver’s CKNW 980.  In 2012, Dr. Zokol was invited to sit in the External Advisory Board of the College of Engineering, Department of Bioengineering at the University of Maine in Bangor.  The purpose of this committee was to assist in establishing modern standards for the enhanced curriculum in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering.

Dr. Zokol maintains a referral dental practice exclusive to Advanced Oral Surgical and Prosthetic Reconstruction in Vancouver, Canada.  In July of 2014, Dr. Zokol relinquished private practice and joined the team of periodontists and prosthodontists at BC Perio in Vancouver, BC to continue his work in surgical and prosthetic reconstruction.  He continues to direct and teach the comprehensive continuum in oral implantology at the Digital Dentistry Institute with his partners, Dr. Bobby Birdi, (dual boarded specialist in Prosthodontics and Periodontics), Dr. Sundeep Rawal (Prosthodontist), Dr. Saj Jivraj (Prosthodontist) and Dr. Faraj Edher (Prosthodontist).
